The mobile botuique will be on location for your shopping needs - we have lots of new items in stock!! This month you will find the mobile boutique first set up at Station Lane November 12th and 13th, while they host a dressage clinic with Sharon Merkel-Beattie. Eversfield Equestrian is hosting their Wild Rose Dressage Schooling show series November 20th, followed by another one December 18th. Please contact David or Glynis Barnes for more information ( davidbarnes9@aol.com ). This is a great opportunity for you and your horse to get out and gain some great experience in a casual atmosphere! Trakehner Glen is hosting a Dressage Clinic with Gina Smith November 26th and 27th. The mobile boutique will be on site and should have even more new inventory for you! As well as some great sales! So come take in a great dressage clinic and pre-Christmas shopping!
Since we are now heading into the "off" season for shows - please be aware that we can still meet your shopping needs! The online will be updated with new products in the coming weeks! To our local Calgary customers, we can make arrangements to have your order delivered to your boarding facility! October was another busy month! I had a great time in B.C. at Thunderbird and Chilliwack Mane Event. Take a look at some of the pictures I took at Thunderbird.. I think they speak for themselves.. great show! We had weather on our side for a rare occasion for Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Halloween Classic - was it ever well attended!!! It was PACK on the saturday with many horses and riders all dressed up for the occasion! And did they ever raise the bar when it came to decor - they even had a real size haunted house!

This month The Dressage Boutique is doing one last trip over the mountains for 2011! You will find the mobile boutique at Thunderbird's Pacific Regional Dressage Championships October 14th - 16th. Then, for the first time, we will be set up at the Chilliwack Mane Event October 21st - 23ed. Ending the month in Calgary at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping's Halloween Classic! The mobile boutique will be parked at the south doors - come say hi! and see all the new winter stock amongst all the great sales!
Wow - Septmeber was busy! And so much fun! Thank you everyone! The Dressage Boutique got some new fall/winter arrivals this month, and they were very well received by customers! More new stock arriving any day as well as early November! Very exciting! I absolutely LOVE these products!
Septmeber in review: The Dressage Boutique's first trip to Southlands Riding Club was excellent - the staff were very friendly and organized. The venue was beautiful and atmosphere serene - fitting for all levels. I enjoyed meeting new customers and seeing some familiar faces, too!! I will be back! Strait from Southlands, we set up at the Spruce Meadows Masters... it was HOT HOT HOT! Seems September is the new July for us here in Calgary this year! WOW! The weather was perfect for some great HORSEWORSHIP T-Shirts! I hope you are all enjoying them as I am mine! The trend of good weather continued to the following week, where the boutique was set up in Red Deer at the annual Provincial and Regional Dressage Championships. It was well attended by riders from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, B.C and Alberta! And we were all surprised (and VERY GRATEFUL)by the good weather (finally!). Thank you everyone for coming by the mobile boutique!! The mobile boutique made one more trip west at the end of the month, to Salmon Arm.. Again, BEAUTIFUL weather!! WOW! Thank you very much to the organizers and competitors - I will see you next year!

It's a busy month for The Dressage Boutique with a line up of great events/shows! Starting with the BC Dressage Championship at Southlands Riding Club September 2nd - 4th. Septmeber 7th - 11th we are set up at the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament. We are located in booth 207 in the Equi-Plex, beside the Saddle Doctor ( click here to see a map! ). Then we're off to Red Deer for the Regional/Provincial Dressage Championships at the Westerner. Lastly, we wrap up the month with a visit to Salmon Arm, BC for their SIDA Fall Dressage Show!

August came and went - finally we had some real summer weather - and it was enjoyed! Couldn't have asked for better weather at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping's Summer Classic II. The Dressage Boutique was set up in the vendor alley, right by the Hunter Grass Ring! Earlier last month we set up and enjoyed the very first Jewels and Jeans Events hosted at the Calgary Polo Grounds - Great job ladies! Below you will find some pictures of those events!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! For August you will find the mobile boutique set up at the Calgary Polo Club during the launch of Jewels and Jeans Event's first Hunter/Jumper show, August 6th & 7th! Then you will find us at Anderson Ranch towards the end of the month for their Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Classic II, August 24th - 28th.

The mobile boutique has a line up of shows again this month! First off we are heading back over the mountains into BC, to Vernon the weekend of July 9th and 10th. They are running their Gold and Bronze level Dressage show, hosted at the Vernon District Riding Club. Then the following week the mobile boutique is back in Calgary and set up at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping's Mid Summer Classic III July 13th - 17th! Then towards the end of the month the mobile boutique heads up to Edmonton to Amberlea Meadows while they are hosting their Summer Dressage Festival July 29th - 31st!
The Dressage Boutique has some new products in stock and more due to arrive any day!! Make sure you check out the latest in Junk Jewelry - by Judy's creations! There sure are some wonderful one of a kind pieces to choose from! Last month was very busy and a great success! It was so wonderful to see everyone and meet so many new people as well! The new soft shell keyhole riding blanket were a sure hit during the abnormally cold and wet June we had! I had a blast at my first Horse Trials in Beaumont! What great support, with so much enthusiasm! Claresholm Dressage Show was well organized and busy as could be in such a nice low key and relaxed environment! Such great support as well! The Annual CA/ADA National Dressage Show had a wonderful turn out! Lot's of competitors with several new faces mixed in - great to see!! The facility was fantastic, as usual! And could easily host many more of us - so lets keep up this great growth! Thank you again to all of my models (horse and dogs included!)! The fashion show that the CA/ADA hosted during their show was a great success and I couldn't have been a prouder boutique owner! Wow!
I am happy to report that my horse, Cajetano, has been colic free for over 2 years now! He is 17 and feels amazing and is looking better then ever! With the exception of his grey hair steadily becoming more and more apparent.. he's only gotten healthier and "younger" looking over the years that I have had him! I am so ever thankful to everyone at Kirschman Farms (from staff/owner to all the boarders - such a great environment), to Tino's vets and farrier and to Transfeeder for supplying such great hay over the years (and their amazing customer service and doing their very best to meet my/Tino's needs). It feels soo good to see my horse healthy and happy.
Here's to July - let's hope it's a hot one ;) Happy riding!

Sorry for the late update, everyone! This month we already set up at our first 3-day Event at Beaumont Horse Trials June 4th and 5th! What a great group!!! I had so much fun! Next the mobile boutique will be set up at the annual Dressage Show in Claresholm, June 11th and 12th. Then the boutique goes to the coast for Thunderbird's Touch of Class Dressage Show June 17th - 19th!! Then come back to Calgary in time for the CA/ADA National Dressage show at Anderson Ranch! What a month! So excited to see everyone. We have some new stock and some great sales going on, as well!

Here we go!! This month the Mobile Boutique is set up at the Jr/Yr Dressage Show in Red Deer May 5th - 8th. The the CA/ADA is hosting a Charlotte Bredahl-Baker Adult Amateur Dressage Symposium at Kestrel Ridge Farm May 14th and 15th. Then the Mobile Boutique will be set up at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Bow Valley Classic II Jumping Competition May 18th - 22nd. Followed by a trip up North to Edmonton's Amberlea Meadows Spring Dressage Show May 27th - 29th!!!
We have some very exciting new products in stock! And more to come on the website! I also recently got the opportunity to visit the Rectiligne France Boot Factory in Mouzillon, France just a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed everything from meeting all the amazing staff to learning all about the boot making process. I got the chance to see several types of leather, learn how things are cut and the process all the way to the soles being put on.. all was very interesting!! It was really wonderful to see the full line of products that they offer and see what's new and coming soon as well!! Very impressive!
I also got a chance to visit Isabell Werth and tour her facility on this trip. It was a wonderful experience all around. From watching her school her horses with such passion and elegance, to meeting all of the staff and getting a tour of the entire facility - everyone was so warm and welcoming, it truely had a family feel to it! It is no wonder why she is as successful as she is, she oozes genuine passion for what she does - beautiful.

This month you will find us at a few events here in Calgary. April 2nd - 3ed we will have our mobile boutique set up at Anderson Ranch for their final Indoor Hunter Show. April 6th - 9th we will be set up at Reverence Stables (on the corner of HWY 22 and 22X) while they host a clinic with Josh Nichole. April 10th we will be back at Anderson Ranch for Willow Grove's Jumper Show, hosted by Trish Mrakawa ( www.willowgrovestables.com ). Then April 16th - 17th we will be back at Anderson Ranch while they host their last indoor Dressage Show!! We will have NEW spring summer items in stock in the next week or two! While our end of winter sale is now over, we still have some great sales for you to enjoy as well! So be sure to swing by one or more of these events!

I have set up twice this month at Station Lane Stables. I thoroughly enjoyed auditing clinics by Sheron Merkel-Beattie and Lorraine Chappell. I found them both to be thoroughly educational! Auditing is always encouraged at clinics and shows as it's always another great way to learn new things (and a great thing to take advantage as it's usually FREE!). If you would like to be kept up to date as to events and clincis, I welcome everyone to send me an email requesting to join my mailing list and I will keep you up to date! Gina Smith is at Trakehner Glen this weekend (February 18th - 20th). I will be by to audit on Friday!!

DRESSAGE HORSE FOR SALE: Oz is a Fancy 16.1 HH 2003 PRE Andalusian Gelding (registered with the IALHA) by Guachio III. Guachio III is a very remarkable stallion known for his athletic movement. In 2000 he was on the American Dressage short list for the Olympics when he suffered a career-ending injury. In 2007 Guachio III was the highest pointed PRE horse in the Leading Sires List in the USA. OZ has inherited his father's incredible movement, easily capable of upper level dressage. He has a warmblood-type extened trott, does all his lateral movement with ease, and naturally collects. He has had professional dressage training over the last year and is easily working first level. Oz is sensitive and very athletic and needs a confident riders to bring out the soft swining back and movement that he is capable of. The Dressage Boutique has a new affiliate, Transfeeder, An Agricultural Corporation ( www.transfeeder.ca ) . They have been providing my horse, Cajetano, with high quality hay for over two years now and I couldn't be happier with the quality and results I have had with my horse! A little about Transfeeder, An Agricultural Corporation:
Transfeeder, An Agricultural Corporation produces Highbred Easy Feed horse hay and Highbred Easy Bed, which it's system has been developed over 20 years of forage export experience. It has undertaken considerable reasearch and development to perfect a product line exclusively for the International Equine Industry. They have considerable experience in shipping feed products globally and are actively exporting to seven international markets in addition to the local Canadian market. Their facility is inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. They purchase only the highest quality hay from expert producers in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Customers can order blends of timothy, orchard grass, brome grass and alfalfa. The blends can incorporate 1st, 2nd, and 3ed cuts of the various hay types. The process heat treats, removes contamination, removes excess dust, moisture balances, and removes small particles and retains the long fibre. Highbred Easy Bed horse bedding is traditional Cereal straw but is unique in that it is passed through a tumble dryer and air fanned to remove dust, pollen and mould. They also add a natural plant material from crop residue that increases the products absorbency. The process heat treats the straw to remove insects and other contaminants that try to make a straw bale a comfortable winter home. In passing the straw through an air wash they are also able to remove other heavy contamination such as stones, bones and metal. The straw is dried to below 10% moisture to improve its bedding performance.
I find there are so many benefits to this products for so many reasons. Your top show horse can enjoy consistent high quality hay no matter where they travel to compete, whether that being local, or California, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Europe etc. Some horses have very sensitive stomachs and need consistent quality, this has been a large benefactor for my horse! Trasfeeders can mix hay to you and your horse's liking.

Great news! The Dressage Boutique & Equestrian Wear now have a Mobile Boutique!!! I took it to our first shows in B.C. this month and it was a success! I travel all the way to Langley, B.C. and set up at Thunderbird Show Grounds during their first annual Fall Fest and then their Regional Dressage Championships! I enjoyed meeting my new customers and some regulars as well! Can't wait to go back next year!
The Dressage Boutique is now able to easily set up at any event. If interested in having us at your event (be that a Clinic, Symposium, Horse Competition, Barn Party!, etc) please contact myself at christel@dressageboutique.com

This month you will find us at Anderson Ranch on the 2nd - 4th for their annual Mid Summer Classic I tournament. Following this you will find us set up at the Spruce Meadows North American Tournament. We will be located in the Marketplace from Friday, July 9th (noon- 9pm) - Sunday July 11th (Sat & Sun 10am - 6pm). Then we are back at Anderson Ranch the following week, starting Wednesday July 14th - Sunday July 18th!! Will will close the month off by heading up to Edmonton for Amberlea Meadows Summer Dressage Show July 30th - August 1st!

Wow! It's June already! We have a couple of really busy months ahead, yeah! Find us mid month (June 12th & 13th) at the Claresholm Dressage Show. Then at the end of the month (June 25th-27th) at the annual CA/ADA National Dressage Show at Anderson Ranch Calgary! Two fantastic Alberta Dressage Shows.
We have new and unique bun covers in stock, don't miss out!! Also our Rectiligne France boots have arrived!!! They are beautiful. Estimated time for orders are between 6-8 weeks. I am personally breaking in a new pair of light brown Hannovre boots. I love them! So far my ankles are the only part of me taking the "break-in abuse" ;) But already the third ride and it's feeling much better. I find them FANTASTIC to walk in! The upper rim is piped and quite soft and I am not finding any discomfort in the back of my knee (this might also be due to the fact I ordered them slightly larger so I can fit winter socks in them!.. it gets cold here in the Winter!). The boot is nice and stiff on the outside and soft on the inside. This allows for a good feel of your horse with the inside of your leg.

What's in a name?
I have been asked why I chose the name that I chose for this store.. Why not a more general name? As I try to appease most equestrians and supporters, not only dressage riders..
Well, for many reasons, but the greatest lies in the fact that I wanted to draw more awareness to the sport of Dressage. I hope that in creating more of an awareness, the sport will grow, evolve and not just globalize our equestrian fashion, but bring some unity to equestrian sports in general. We all have one major thing in common, a passion for horses.. And a lot of us have not only dipped our toes in just one discipline! And who doesn't love the feeling of wearing great quality products!? For a long time I would get frusterated in the limited selections of fashions in equestrian stores. When a company makes great stuff, they make great stuff.. I wanted to be able to get more then just a couple pair of breeches from a brand I loved! I wanted to specialize in a couple great brands, high quality equestrian apparel, and offer a variety. With your support, I hope it will evolve, expand and grow over the coming years. Already this year we are adding some high quality boots from France (Rectiligne), beautiful accessories from Germany (Dimacci), and top Canadian saddle pad brand (ECOGOLD). Happy April! We have added Rectiligne France riding boots to our Accessories section. They are beautifully made half chaps, dressage and jumper boots with creative detail, high quality leather, and leading inovative technology. All at a fantastic price!! Where to find us this month? April 3ed & 4th, find us at Anderson Ranch for their Winter Training Series III Hunter. As well as the following weekend, April 9th - 11th, we will be at Anderson Ranch as Willow Grove will be hosting their jumper show there. We will also be at Anderson Ranch April 17th & 18th for their Dressage Show Series II. Find us in Red Deer for the Mane Event during April 23ed-25th.. And we will be kicking off May with the last Dressage show hosted by Anderson Ranch May 1st & 2nd!

Spring is here!!! We have had a steady couple weeks of beautiful weather here in Calgary. It has been more than welcoming! Show season is now upon us and we are very excited! The Dressage Boutique will be set up at Anderson Ranch March 13th & 14th for RMSJ Dressage Show Series I. You will also find us there the following weekend, March 20th & 21st, for their RMSJ Winter Jumper Series III.
We are also very excited to announce that we will be importing some new and unique products from countries such as Australia, United Kingdom, Germany and France! Details coming soon.. Last but not least we are also very proud to soon be selling ECOGOLD products! ECOGOLD is a well known CANADIAN product. They are well known for their inovative and high quality saddle pads that riders love!

It is with great saddness that I announce the passing of my horse, "Bear". He was humanely put down September 2nd due to complications post colic surgery. He will forever be a part of me. His enormous size match his heart and personality.. he will forever be missed.

COME BY OUR BOOTH at the CA/ADA National Dressage Show held at Anderson Ranch this weekend, June 26th - 28th. Please fill out a ballad and enter to WIN an Isabell Werth Grooming Bag! Carrots and Cocktails April 2009 Review
Once again, Jenny Simpson pulled of a fantastic show April 18th-19th at Anderson Ranch. The Dressage Boutique proudly sponsored the Top Junior. The winner this time was Meg Duckworth receiving a Dressage Boutique Keyhole Rainsheet. I am sure Meg will put it to good use in this upcoming show season! We all know how the weather can change frequently and drastically here in Alberta! Good luck Meg!
We also had quite the entertaining weekend! We hosted a fashion show at lunch time on Saturday and the Sunday. I wanted to thank all my models once again for all their time and looking fabulous in the clothes! Thank you! I am looking forward to the next one. The models were also sporting accessories from DK Daisies. DK Daisies also sets up at the shows selling wonderful hair accessories, hats and bags! Thank you Tina and DK Daisies!

Carrots and Cocktails March 2009 Review
Jenny Simpson pulled off an amazing show! The turn out was great. The riders were looking spiffy and so were their horses! The Dressage Boutique & equestrian wear sponsored the Top Junior Competitor. The winner of that was Tess Wise, receiving a DB Keyhole Rain Sheet (embroidering done by Trace Embroidery ). I would also like to thank Lara of Briarwood Photography for the wonderful photograph taken of the sponsor presentation! I would also like to recognize all the volunteers and all the time they take out of their lives to make this show run as well as it has. These shows rely so much on these volunteers, so if you can offer a helping hand or know of a friend who can, we appreciate it so much!
I am looking forward to sponsoring the Top Junior again at the Carrots and Cocktails show April 18th & 19th, 2009! The Dressage Boutique booth will be set up again upstairs in the viewing room, so come check us out!
